Rally against BLM Coal Leasing

July 30, 2014 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am

The federal Bureau of Land Management Colorado office will be “leasing” (think “giving away”) some of the public’s coal–coal that will likely find its way into the export market….

The lease is for 8.97 million tons to expand the Bowie 2 mine near Paonia, Colorado.

The last time the Colorado BLM “leased” some of the public’s extremely high quality Colorado coal to help warm our planet etc. they did so for 25 cents/ton…

Hmmm–let’s see–
4 tons of coal = Price of 1 pack of (cheap) gum…
Seem like “Fair Market Value” to you???
If you have “concerns’ about this…please join us in protest:

Wednesday
July 30, 2014
8:30 am
Bureau of Land Management Office
2850 Youngfield St
Lakewood, Colorado 80215
We will protest on the sidewalk from about 8:30 to 9:45
and then head inside to see if the BLM moves ahead with this travesty…
If they do, the process will “knock your socks” off…
Please RSVP to  Leslie Glustrom at lglustrom@gmail.com
(and let her know if you want to car pool from Boulder.)
Whether you can join us on July 30 at the BLM office or not…

Please let Colorado Senators Udall and Bennett know what you think
about the BLM “leasing” the public’s coal for (a lot) less than a pack of gum and then allowing it to be sent overseas to be turned into  carbon dioxide that will disrupt the climate of the only planet we know that supports life…
