Rally, march, and peace vigil for justice in Palestine

We encourage people to bring signs highlighting the US’s financial support of Israel’s military occupation, and to wear tattered, bloodied clothes to dramatize our message to the public that the US is complicit in Israel’s massacre of Palestinian children in Gaza. There will be fake blood available at the Capitol. If you have white linen to contribute to the bloody spectacle (such as bed sheets or pillow cases), please bring it! For our spectacle we will have dead babies (fake ones, of course) to represent the Palestinian children who have died, and their names will be read out loud. We will also be hosting speakers to highlight the current situation in Gaza.

Our march will begin at the Capitol and proceed down the 16th Street mall, turning right on Glenarm to stop at the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (17th and Glenarm). After that, we will proceed back to the mall and head down to Skyline Park for a brief peace vigil, then head back to the Capitol.

On Saturday, August 9th, beginning at 12:45pm on the West side of the Capitol, Denver’s Arab-Palestinian community and its supporters will be holding a rally and march for justice in Palestine. We will be hosting speakers and have a peace vigil for children who have died in the recent “Operation Protective Edge,” the code name for Israel’s recent massacre of Palestinians in Gaza.
