Stories of Resilience: Tapping Into Our Life Stories For Better Climate Change Communication

June 24, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

free

The climate movement is woefully impaired by major barriers to good communication: political polarization, the climate denial industry, eco-guilt, bias, short-term thinking, and the list goes on!

This workshop offers a new strategy: We’ll tap into our own life stories and learn to tell simple, powerful stories that strengthen our psychological resilience while giving us the perfect tactical tool for changing other people’s minds on climate. Telling our own stories fires up our courage, helps shake off feelings of helplessness, and gives us a flexible and powerful new communication strategy for mobilizing others on climate change (and other situations, too)

Maria Talero, PhD, left a career in academia to become a full time climate educator and her unique and innovative work on the Front Range has been highly praised. This workshop is offered free thanks to the generosity of Jefferson Unitarian Church‘s Green Task Force and the Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES).

Join us to jump-start new strategies for effectively communicating the urgency of climate change!

Please RSVP to let us know whether you want to stay afterwards for a soup dinner with the participants (vegan or meat, gluten free) or just attend the workshop from 2-5pm.
