On Saturday, November 8th, we will be meeting with representatives of Co-Operate Colorado to try to understand more fully the plan they are marketing in their booklet that was published on Sept 11, 2014.

The meeting will take place at 10 am at Kirk of Bonnie Brae (1201 South Steele Street, Denver, CO 80210), we would like to have light refreshments, and it will be chaired by me and Lyn Gullett, executive director for Co-Operate Colorado. We will be listening to responses to our questions and we will also invite Denver chapter members who wish to attend to join us. This is not intended to be the be-all/end-all meeting on endorsement or support for the cooperative plan as the bill will likely be tweaked and/or modified further prior to its introduction. We are hoping to clarify the points over which we have concerns so we can consider their plan’s consistency with our mission and goals.

The legislative committee of HCAC will review the bill when it is introduced for recommendation on endorsement/support — and that may not occur for a few months yet. So we can be patient and considered in our work and in our communications with our fellow health reform advocates as we each pursue our efforts to provide care for the people of Colorado.
