“We the People, Not We the Corporations” is the tag line used by those who oppose the Supreme Court ruling that – according to the “Felonious Five” – Justices Roberts, Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas and Alito’s interpretation of the United States Constitution – corporations can be considered as people and have constitutional rights. This decision is a crack in our efforts toward democracy, as money equates speech.

Our featured speaker, the Chair of Colorado Move to Amend, and Metro Denver Move to Amend, will discuss the nationwide movement to amend the U.S. Constitution so that it says clearly, and unequivocally, that “Corporations are NOT People!” and “Money is NOT Speech!”

Denver Social Forum was created and functions to educate people on critical issues, share knowledge and teach skills to be more independent of the existing system, build alternative and sustainable systems to meet our human needs, to empower individuals to reflect on their own purpose in order to make a difference, and finally, create the consciousness that we have the knowledge and skills and the power to create the change we desire.

Each Social Forum focuses on a different theme and they are conducted at various locations in Colorado. All teach-ins and workshops are pro-bono and offered for free of charge. The DSF Education Committee helps to coordinate and find free spaces for these teach-ins sometimes combining outdoor and indoor spaces.
