Groundswell Rising “Should be watched by everyone on the side of industry and those considering leasing their land to the gas companies.” Mark Ruffalo, Actor, Activist

This film documents the opposition from both sides of the political spectrum to the ubiquitous practice of fracking for natural gas, and the health and environmental reasons behind it. GROUNDSWELL RISING gives voice to ordinary folks engaged in a David and Goliath struggle against Big Oil and Gas. We meet parents, scientists, doctors, farmers and individuals across the political spectrum decrying the energy extraction process known as fracking that puts profits over people. This provocative documentary tracks a grassroots movement exposing dangers to clean air, water, and civil rights.

Executive Producer Mark Lichty will also be in attendance and available for discussion. He is an attorney and former CEO of an industrial products company. Deeply concerned about safety issues not being addressed by the Oil and Gas industry, Mark did thousands of hours of research and reading about the environmental consequences of fracking, including the drastic impacts on our climate. Mark sees fracking as the biggest environmental threat in his lifetime.

The film is 58 min long and we will have time for Q&A.
